Step 1 ~ Planning

Once your payment is received, I will send you a design questionnaire so that you can tell me more about you, your business and how you want your website to look. Giving me clear direction is critical ~ if you are able to help me understand your vision for the project, it will go much faster and much more smoothly.

I will brainstorm on layout ideas, design elements, site functionality, etc. After I nail down exactly what you are looking for, I will move on to graphic design and approval.

At this time, I will put together a timeline for the remainder of your project.

Also if applicable I can add a Coming Soon page to an existing site or on your new site.

Please note, I prefer payment in full once planning begins, however I will be happy to discuss terms. If I will be conducting your hosting and domain registration I will need that in full to proceed. I can give you a quote for this service beforehand if asked.

Step 2 ~ Design
I will work on some proofs of your site so that you may critique them. Links won't usually be active in this phase. This is your chance to tell me what you like and what you don't like. It is very important that you give me feedback and this stage. Please be brutally honest. This is YOUR site and I guarantee that you will be satisfied! However, making major changes once I have moved on to Implementation can result in an increase to your original estimated price.

I typically allow two major alterations to the mock-ups before we discuss estimated price increases. Major alterations include large, dramatic changes to the design ~ such as a completely new layout, new graphics, new features or functionality. Minor tweaks and revisions are accepted throughout the design process.

Step 3 ~ Implementation
This is when I will actually build your site ~ install the software, set up the shopping cart, integrate your design, perform any custom coding you have requested.

My preference is to build the site on your domain. If you already have a live site, we will work in a test environment on your domain. This way you can watch the progress and see it all come together.

Once the site is installed and you are happy with it, we will need to go over the basics of product entry and site management. I will advise you of the best way to handle your situation. It varies from client to client.

At this time, the remaining project balance will be collected if not paid in full.

Step 4 ~ Ready, Set, Launch!
When your inventory has been added and test orders completed, you will be ready to go live!

If your site is running in a test environment, I will move it to its final location.

I will take down your "coming soon" page if you have one.

Please note that all claims for defects, corrections, or glitches must be made within 14 days of project completion. All requests made after the 14 day period are subject to additional fees at my normal hourly rates.

If you have any questions about the design process, please contact me.
